The school caters for a wide range of complex needs, and therefore all applications are considered on an individual basis.

The following categories of need have been present in current and past young people, and have resulted in successful outcomes for young people:

  • Moderate and severe learning difficulties
  • Emotional, social, behavioural, trauma and attachment needs
  • Young people who would benefit from a therapeutic environment, including specialist therapeutic support
  • Difficulties resulting from: Autistic Spectrum Disorder (including Asperger’s), Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, Tourette’s Syndrome, Dyslexia, Dyspraxia, Oppositional Defiance Disorder, Foetal Alcohol Syndrome, Prader-Willi Syndrome, Speech and Language Difficulties, Global Developmental Delay, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, Pathological Avoidance Disorder and Epilepsy; this list is not exhaustive

Due to the particularly vulnerable nature of the client group, the school is not normally suitable for individuals who have involvement in significant/sustained streetwise behaviour, including drug/alcohol abuse and/or criminal activities. The school is unable to provide long term 1:1 supervision and does not currently provide waking night supervision, although requests for this would be considered on an individual basis,. The school cannot meet the need for secure accommodation. The school accepts both girls and boys, therefore a single sex environment is not possible, however single sex living accommodation is available in a small number of houses.

If you are interested in making an application please submit case papers along with an Admissions Questionnaire. If the Admissions Panel feels the School may be a suitable placement to meet the young person’s needs, then a visit will be arranged, followed by a minimum 5 day/night assessment period.

If you would like to discuss needs on an individual basis, or if you have any questions regarding the admissions process please contact Rachael Walton (Admissions & Contracts Co-ordinator) or Carolyn Cornwall (Registered Manager Cotswold Chine) on 01453 837550 or via email /

All placements at the School are subject to the National Schools (NASS) Contract. For further information please visit:
